Rising Signs

Your Rising sign, also called your Ascendant, is the sign that was coming up over the eastern horizon at the minute you were born. It's the front door of your chart: the vibe people pick up before they know you, your instinctive way of handling new places and new people, and often your personal style.

Because the sky turns a full circle every day, the Rising sign changes roughly every two hours. That makes it the most personal of your Big Three, and the one that needs an accurate birth time. Its ruling planet becomes the ruler of your whole chart.
