How Selmoon works
Selmoon is a small tarot and astrology site run by a tarot reader with years of paid one-on-one readings. We built it for the late-night questions: the ex, the situationship, the job.
Where the readings come from
Every card meaning on this site follows the traditional Rider–Waite–Smith deck. When you pull three cards, the reading is put together instantly from those meanings, the position each card lands in, and the answers you give. It is automated, not a live psychic, and we say so plainly.
Where the birth charts come from
Your chart is calculated in your browser with standard astronomical formulas (the Sun and Moon from Jean Meeus's Astronomical Algorithms, the planets from NASA JPL's published orbital elements), in the tropical zodiac with whole sign houses.
What tarot can and can't do
Tarot is a mirror for reflection. It can help you look at a situation from a new angle. It can't promise what another person will do, and it's not a substitute for medical, legal, financial or mental-health advice. If you're in crisis in the US, call or text 988.
Payments and your data
Every purchase is a single, one-time payment shown before you pay. There are no subscriptions or trials. Payments go through Stripe. We use your email only to send your reading, plus newsletters if you opt in, and we never sell it. Terms, privacy and refunds.
